The last of the traditional press conferences was held on 17 October at the FCC, Varna to cover the events of the previous competition day of the 32nd edition of Golden Rose Festival of Bulgarian Feature Film.
Actors Stefan Denolubov and Ivan Savov answered the questions of journalists and critics on behalf of the team of The Lesson. The movie was received with an ovation and defined to be ‘a film that is yet to cause comments!’
Denolubov said about his role that most of the lines of his character were an improvisation to a great extent, approved, of course, by Petar Valchanov’ (co-director of the film together with Kristina Grozeva). Asked if it was tricky to work with two directors, both actors were unanimous that ‘it came so natural that we were unaware that there were two of them’.
The most eagerly anticipated topic that day was, however, the announcing of the Golden Rose Award winners. At 12:30, the journalists and most of the competing teams welcomed the five members of the jury. The chairman, Emil Hristov said that the winners would be announced at the Golden Rose Awards Ceremony during the closing night of the Festival on 17 October at 7:00pm ‘as it is done at all large film festivals across the world’. As regards the competing movies, the jury was very positive saying that this had been a good year for Bulgarian film.
